Introduction

Disaster results in risks whereas management needs to be done for the risks that have been faced as a consequence of the disaster. Disaster Risk Management is a compilation of risk management policies and strategies to tackle the phase rather than suffering from no alternatives. Master of Science in Disaster Risk Management is a curse for graduates for two consecutive years.
Objectives of the course
The course is an initiative with less publicity but a course that needs to be considered at the most because disaster risk management is a very important skill to protect humanity, state as well as nationality. This is because one can lead to the devastating state in the absence of the concept of disaster risk management. The major objectives of the course are as follows:
- To develop the conceptualized environment in response to the disasters and their risks
- To facilitate the readers with the kinds of disasters and respective risks as a consequence
- To make certain that disaster risk is a matter of concern in a national as well as a local priority

Universities offering the course
The course was first introduced by Tribhuvan University from 2011/12 under the Institute of Engineering. It has limited seats only for 20 students with the prevalence of quotas. 5 students are taken from regular merit whereas one seat is reserved for Institute of Engineering. 6 seats can claim the full fee for the course whereas the remaining 8 are for the sponsored students.
Eligibility
A candidate must have completed their Bachelors in Engineering or Bachelors in Architecture and Masters in Science with a minimum of four years of formal education after passing their high school. They must possess the sound academic background and should meet the marking criteria as stated by the Institute of Engineering. They must appear for the entrance and be able to secure a seat accordingly to the allocation made.
Admission criteria
The candidate must fill the application form online within the given deadline as prescribed by the Entrance Exam Board The amount or the application fee should be paid in the bank and the voucher number should be mentioned in your application form. The details of the form and the application fee can be extracted from the websites as www.ioe.edu.np/entrance or http://entrance.ioe.edu.np. A color photograph of the identification document like citizenship certificate or password or last exam admits card needs to be uploaded with the application form. The changes made to the form once submitted is charged with an extra fee to edit or less numb of normal texts. The letter of request for correction needs to be submitted with the payment voucher to correct their uploaded photo or identity document.
