Enrollment criteria for NEB grade 11

Introduction 

Earlier known as Higher Secondary Education Board which got converted into National Education Board these days has published a sheet for specifying the enrollment criteria for students who have passed their Secondary Education Examination (SEE). The guidelines are prepared for the academic year 2073/74 after the meeting conducted with the chairmanship of Education Minister.  

The meeting was held on the 1 st of Ashard, 2073 which gets changed with the time requirements. The decisions made by the council regarding the enrollment are mentioned below. You can also find the scope of these subjects. 

  • Science

Enrolment criteria

In order to enroll in the stream of science with major subjects like physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics or computer science or agriculture, you must have C+ in science and mathematics, C in English and D+ in science and Nepali. 

Subject

Science general denotes the conceptualized study that with the natural world with biological being. It involves areas of technology as well as scientific reasoning. Science has a wide range of study as well as a variety of fields to enter once you go for science in high school. 

Scope

Science has some optional subjects like a choice between a physical group of biology. But as a whole, you can enter into the following areas after studying science in your high school:

I. Medical field

II. Engineering

III. Agriculture

IV. Veterinary

V. Lab Technology and therapy

VI. Law

VII. Research and scientific studies

VIII. Airspace

IX. Zoology and Geology 

X. Food technology and microbiology and so on. 

  • Vocational group

Enrollment criteria

The vocational subject group with subjects like animal/ plant science, electrical or civil or computer engineering, the minimum grade for science, mathematics, and English is C whereas you must have at least D+ in Nepali and social studies.

Subjects

As mentioned earlier, vocational education includes subjects like plant or animal science and engineering like civil, computer or electrical. Vocational education is more of a practical course rather than theory. You are taught about it and made to imitate the skills after you complete the course. They are non-academic course but related directly with an occupation or vocation.

Scope

The non-academic course but a practical demonstration make you more capable and prepares you for occupation rather than the upcoming degree. The fields like engineering want the live demonstration of theories and principles which are taught with an experiment to you. In this way, vocational courses are the keys to the jobs directly because you possess capability with the certificate and degree. 

  • Subject-based education

Enrollment criteria

You must have at least a C in mathematics and D+ in English, Nepali, social studies and science in order to join subjects like mathematics, accountancy, economics, geography, computer science, teaching mathematics, elements of finance, Jyotish, co-operative management, business studies, business math, and psychology. 

Subjects

You are given a wide range of subjects like mathematics, accountancy, economics, geography, computer science, teaching mathematics, elements of finance, Jyotish, co-operative management, business studies, business maths and psychology out of which one of your interests can be preferred. ‘

Scope

When you have a subject of your interest, it makes you more concentrated on what you study and makes you oriented for what you can do in the future with it. You can work as a resource agent, teacher, lecturer, head of the department, professor, subject analyst once you go for the upgraded educational degrees. 

  • Major in physics, chemistry or biology education or teaching science

Enrollment criteria

You can go for physics or chemistry or biology education or teaching science if you have at least a C in science and mathematics and D+ in English, social studies and Nepali.

 

Subject

When you study science as a whole, you have to study almost all of them but if you want to know one of them, then major subject preference is beneficial. This makes you good with a branch of science or capable of teaching science. There are other complementary subjects that go with the major one. 

Scope

You can work as a teacher or mentor with specific branch of science once you complete masters or more on a subject. High school is a base for you in the above-mentioned subject for which you are prepared to know them in details further. 

  • English and its version

Enrolment Criteria

English, alternative English, linguistics, teaching English has a minimum requirement of C grade in English and D+ in Nepali and social studies. 

Subject

We study English as a whole. But if you are interested only in linguistics or want to go for a major in alternative English than this one is best for you. During your high school, you will be supplied with more additional subjects but a major in what you preferred. 

Scope

You will be able to cope up with your subject of interest in an easier way because you will be given the concept about it during your high school. You have a wide range of scope when you have English as a major one because it is one of the essentials in today’s world. 

  • Mass communication/ hotel management/ travel and tourism

Enrollment criteria

In order to join mass communication, hotel management or travel and tourism, the minimum requirement is C in English whereas D+ in social studies, mathematics, and Nepali. 

Subject

Mass communication is a study that enhances your way of speaking and public relations. Hotel management is the subject that deals with managerial skills and capabilities of running a hotel as a business or service. Travel and tourism are related to tours and its management. 

Scope

Either subject you choose, you will be familiar with the scope or an attitude of entrepreneurship to innovate something of your own with amazing creativity of dealing with public and maintaining hospitality. 

  • Nepali as a major 

Enrollment criteria

A subject like Nepali or teaching Nepali requires at least a  C in Nepali and D+ in English and social studies. 

Subject

The subject is an alternative for students who have genuine interest it in and wants to go for some related subjects or Nepali itself. There are complementary subjects as well. 

Scope

 Nepali as a major is a plus point for people because it allows us to learn it in detail with its every involved branch. You cannot aim to have a secured job just with your high school degree but can have a better understanding as per the need of your profession so that you can cope up with your further degrees. 

  • Study of history, political science, home science, culture, sociology

Enrollment criteria 

In order to study about history, political science, home science, culture, sociology, philosophy, library, and information science, you must score at least a C in social studies and D+ in English and Nepali. 

Subject

 You can choose between history, political science, home science, culture, sociology, philosophy, library and information science.   history, political science, home science, culture, sociology are the subjects with a linkage which enable us to study what happened and what’s happening with a tint of consequences as well.  The library is a blend of subjects with a conceptualized way of knowing what’s happening with varieties of the field that is also an information science. 

Scope

These subjects enable you to develop a career in the specialized field and act as an analyst of an expert if you are dedicated to your course and relevant activities. 

  • Health education 

Enrollment Criteria 

In order to join health and physical education, population studies, environmental education, introduction to education or pedagogy, C in EPH and D+ in English, Nepali and science is a minimum requirement.

Subject

Health education relates to physical education, population studies, environmental education, and even pedagogy. Pedagogy refers to the procedure of teaching specified towards an academic concept or the theoretical subject.

Scope

Health is a matter of concern for almost every being whereas environment and population are the consecutive factors. Thus, it has a wide scope if you go for any of the above subjects because they are relevant as well as applicable subjects in real life with a genuine explanation.  

  • Ethical study or specialized learning

Enrollment Criteria

To study human value education, general law, Sanskrit, Bykaran, Sahitya, Nyaya, Veda, Niti Shastra, Bouddha education or law, you must have D+ in Nepali, English and social studies as a minimum requirement.

Subject

Value education refers to the act of providing moral values and ethical concept to people which is an important aspect to develop a child and make them socialize. Not only this, value education councils individual and help them to realize deep about life and their acts. 

Byakaran refers to the grammar in the Nepali language. This is unlike usual grammar but has its own rules and regulations as well as details about ways of writing correctly. 

General law or law refers to the study of definite rules that corrects the procedure of an act or doings in a specialized field. This study develops law aspirants and can help you a lot in order to go for advocacy further. 

Nyaya Veda, Niti Shastra, Bouddha education are spiritual learning that has its own principles as well as ways of utilization in one’s life. They have their own source and enlightenment. 

Scope

Specialized learning has its own specific areas to implement their learning. Each of them influences your acts and helps you to develop a career with it. 

  • Languages

Enrollment criteria

In order to study Maithili, Hindi, Newari, French, Japanese, Urdu, German, Chinese and other languages immediately after secondary schooling, the minimum requirement is D+  in English, Nepali and social studies. 

Subject

Learning a language is never a waste of time. Language is a medium of speaking which is a very helpful one throughout life. To all the students interested in learning language, go for it and choose the one that relates to you, your interest, the career of the market status. 

Scope

The language will help you to uplift yourself as well as guide others or be a mentor. Once you start learning, you will be exposed to more of it and develop a career with it. 

Interest leads towards the destination.

  • Performing arts

Enrollment Criteria

The minimum requirement is D+ in English if you want to go dancing, music, sculpture, painting, applied arts, sports, and others for your high school. 

Subject

Many of us are unknown about the fact that there is a course for performing arts like dance, music, sculpture, painting, sports and so on. Applied arts are concerned with designs and decorations. These subjects are truly based on one’s ability to adapt as well as the genuine passion that can turn it into a profession because you cannot develop a career with it just taking this as a pastime.  

Scope

These courses are quite unusual as well as rarely preferred but someone with adequate knowledge about it is highly paid in today’s days. People pay attention to their passion and these subjects allow you to develop your passion into a profession. 

As a whole, interest lifts you toward the destination. Therefore, study something that you find interesting or else a decision in a hurry may lead you toward something out of your attentiveness. The act of choosing a better stream or a subject for you can make you satisfied as well because there is no compulsion of subjects when you have these varieties to choose from for your high school.
