Post Basic Bachelor in Nursing (PBN/PBBN)

Introduction

Post Basic Bachelor in Nursing is a three-year nursing science program. This program was designed to produce competent and adaptive manpower in the field of nursing. With the increase in the development of technology in this field, skilled manpower is in demand and this program has helped to meet those demands to a certain extent. This program is for those who are interested in enhancing their skills in nursing.

Objectives

The objectives of this course are as follows:

• provide theoretical and practical knowledge regarding nursing science
• provide knowledge to nursing health professionals about the contemporary issues in health care and enable them to deal with the
• develop various skills like leadership, communication, and group organization
• foster positive attitudes in nursing health care professionals
• produce competent health care professionals in the field of nursing

Scope

After the completion of this program, the graduates will be able to find jobs as a nurse in various health institutions.

This program is currently provided by two major institutions and some of their affiliated institutions.

National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS)

NAMS is a well-known health institute in Nepal. It is known for its quality education as well as its association with Bir Hospital.

Course structure

Over the three years, the students will take both theoretical and practical courses. The courses will help to provide knowledge regarding health care.

• a Proficiency Level Certificate (PCL) in Nursing
• 2 years work experience after PCL

Purbanchal University

Purbanchal University is one of the prominent universities in Nepal. It has five constituent colleges. One of them is the College of Medical and Allied Sciences in which PBBN is available.
