Introduction to Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies (BDevS)
Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies (BDevS)) is an internationally recognized undergraduate program and demanded program which is emphasized on the Sustainable Development and its practices with the vision to generate experts in sustainable development, social engineering, researchers and entrepreneurs for the overall development of the nation. It is amazingly amongst the interesting subject on social science which covers different parts of financial matters, Sociology ,population, spatial planning,gender,and governance,which help to investigate diverse parts of advancement.It is a 4 year Bachelor degree program including eight semesters
Its main objective is to build up the academic skills and attitudes important to understand and assess the ideas of social and financial improvement, help understudies to take care of different issues in the general public by methods for commonsense methodologies utilizing models and inventive arrangements and build up the capacity to survey, merge, broaden, and apply the learning and procedures to genuine circumstances. It gives students the standards and practices, difficulties, and chances of improvement for making the general public prosperous and advance.
The entrance examination for Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies usually opens in August. There will be a written entrance examination as per the university, students choose to study and later on, after they pass the entrance examination. They will be called for an interview or directly get the admission. Therefore, it varies according to the college and their rules and regulation.
Requirements to Study.
Regularly, confirmation for BDevS opens in August, after the outcome announcement of the evaluation 12 by HSEB. The students who have finished Higher Secondary instruction (Grade 12), or Intermediate level or Higher Secondary equivalent in any control from a recognized school/college board are qualified to apply for the Bachelor of Development Studies. Candidates are chosen from a merit list of placement test directed by the School of Development and Social Engineering for the constituent program and independently by individual universities for affiliated programs.

1. Kathmandu University (KU)
Kathmandu University (KU) is an autonomous governmental, public institution which is the third oldest university in Nepal which is located in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok District, about 30 km east of Kathmandu. 2. Pokhara University (PU or PoU)
Pokhara University (PU or PoU Nepali: was founded in 1997 as Nepal’s fifth university. Its central office is in Pokhara Lekhnath municipality, Kaski district, Western Development Region. Along with Purbanchal University, PU was formed as part of the government’s policy for improved access to higher education. The prime minister is the university chancellor and the minister for education is the pro-chancellor. The vice chancellor is the principal administrator of the university.
